Marvel Villains

What is up! today I bring you the 3rd part of my Superhero character discussion and today is based on the Villains of the Marvel universe, where would any superhero be without their villain probably resolving normal situations like cats stuck up tree's, it's these villains that continuously plot that make comics and films entertaining. so today I'm talk through a few of my favourite villains from both comics and film adaptations. Enjoy and do feel free to comment your favourite villain.
so to start things off is Spider-Man's greatest foes- I say foes because I like them both and their like family, so please welcome Venom and Carnage!

Venom and Carnage

just to clear things up, carnage is actually a villain in Spider man's eyes and Venom's so in every comics featuring these 3 usually results in a free for all and its only a matter of time before we see this on the big screen.
the reason these 2 are in this post is because they look awesome Carnage I have to say looks a lot better but the idea of a symbiote is pretty cool so before I continue I would like to give a back story off each of these.

Venom bonded to Spider-man during the results of the Secret Wars in which his suit was damaged, in an attempt to find a new suit he was directed to a facility. Peter activated the machine which unleashed the symbiote and attached itself to spidey providing him with a stronger suit. After Peter got rid of the suit it later bonded to Eddie Brock because of his pure hatred for Spider-man the two became known as Venom.
When Eddie was imprisoned he met a psychopathic murderer called Cletus Kasady, Venom broke Eddie out but left a spawn behind (how? is another question) this bonded to Cletus creating Carnage so in a very twisted and odd way... Venom is Carnage's father.
The reason I like these 2 is because they are just really cool looking characters their very monstrous and have always been a challenge for the web crawler but it's not just that, the symbiote has bonded to other marvel characters which has always created something fun and it's always left fans wondering who would be next personally I'd love to see a wolverine/venom which was created in the web of shadows game, it would just look amazing.
Between the two I would have to say that Carnage is better because he's a lot stronger and his appearance is a lot more menacing its like the symbiote is more alive plus he can create weapons from it which is just awesome and I think my favourite thing about the symbiote is that there are many forms of it; there's:
Venom, Carnage, Toxin and one of my favourites Anti-venom plus a hell of a lot more.
the only thing that annoys me is that their weaknesses are vibrations and loud sounds which kinda sucks but saying that as each symbiote evolves and reproduces their strengths increase and their weaknesses are reduced so maybe in the future we could see a newly designed venom who is not affected by a bell church.
Before I move on I would like to touch on Spider-man 3's incarnation of Venom, honestly he looked amazing they got a lot of things right.

but I don't think he was big enough, Eddie Brock was a very buff guy which created a large and strong villain and what everyone hated... he did not get enough screen time, if you are going to incorporate the most well known villain in spider man's world you do not leave it until the last 20 minutes, NO! shame on you.

Loki

Loki! the god of mischief is in this post because of Tom Hiddleston's portrayal of him in the movies, I was never the biggest fan in the comics because of the way he looked which has slowly been getting better but in the films he is just an amazing character and he's one of those villains that you can't hate no matter what he does, he could destroy an entire city but we will still love the trickster and I think it's because of his mysterious nature and anger that we love but if you compare him to other villains like Magneto for example he is the only one to almost achieve something, Magneto has never been the superior mutant but Loki has become King of Asgard and has almost taken over an entire city with an alien army at his command. comparing him to Thor though he may be considered weak but he doesn't need to be strong because he's sneaky and manipulative and we've seen more and more of his tricks throughout the films he's been in like his famous holographic trick which fools Thor every time and his newly explored ability to shape shift which made us laugh and shocked us during Thor 2.
I think throughout the films we get a great new look for Loki that still keeps this green and gold theme along with his horned helmet but what I think has developed especially in the 2nd Thor film is his ability to change sides in 2011 he was happy to kill Thor but in 2013 he worked with him and this brotherly bond began to rekindle but as Loki said "trust my rage" so I think in this he was willing to work with the God of thunder but that changes completely again which leaves the film open to a sequel that will star Loki! with Loki what you see is not what you get there is always a trick up his sleeve and although he may not be the strongest villain in the universe he is the most fun, he makes us laugh but he can be dangerous and I don't think we've seen all of his tricks yet because he is so unpredictable, you never know what he's going to do which is a lot better than other villain cliches. The main reason I like Loki is because he's full of surprises and he is a very cool character despite not being the strongest but he had a good round with captain america so maybe he's not as weak as I think. I cannot wait for a new Thor film with Loki and I think he will be missed in Avengers but lets hope he gets a mention.

Ultron

Ultron is an amazingly awesome character who looks brilliant and my favorite thing about him is that he is not an alien, he was created by Hank Pym who decided to experiment with artificial life and eventually he Built Ultron who would later become the Avengers toughest villain.
what makes him an intriguing character is that he can never be truly defeated because he can exist within computers and so he can constantly upgrade himself to an extent that one of his forms was made completely out of adamantium making him almost impossible to defeat and at one point he had 4 arms which is awesome. I'm going to call him the most evil villain out there because of his lack of sympathy and emotion, he cannot be reasoned with and he will kill anything in his way, I believe in a series of comics he actually led an army of himself to destroy an entire country called... Slorenia
I am really excited about his appearance in the Avengers sequel, I think he will be great depending on how they design him for some reason I really how they give him the red cape... he just looks awesome with it like he is superior. Overall Ultron is a brilliantly well designed character who is always a challenge to compete against and the brilliant thing is that there have been multiple designs for him to keep things alive and introduce new aspects which is always really interesting and that cant always be done with certain characters so its nice to known that they are always changing and evolving him but keeping it so that we can recognise him in the comics and I think with the film we will see a lot of differences, since Hank isn't in it I think Tony Stark is more likely to be the cause of Ultron's birth but what will he look like and how will he be a challenge?
I think the most important thing to consider in the creation of Ultron is that he is a villain beyond reason and with no actual aim other than destroy the human race and be the superior leader and I really hope they use that to create the unstoppable monster that he is, he's not gunna stop and say "whoa, ok I surrender" he's going to continue fighting and hopefully damaged the avengers, he needs to prove how strong he is and I hope they do that by killing off one of the avengers, realistically its the entire group vs 1 so if thats the way its going to be Ultron is at an unfair disadvantage unless... they make him very very strong, Hulk wont be able to rip him in half and Thor won't be able to destroy him with lightning, its going to take the whole team to defeat him.

Magneto

After a long think I'm pretty sure Magneto has earned his place on this blog post. At first I was not a big fan of magneto, he had cool powers but his aims and motivation was quite weak when it was displayed in the comics and his costume was very less impressive I mean he wears a red bucket and a cape admittedly his costume will always be better than any of my Halloween costumes but that's not the point. But over the years something happened deep inside of comic designers hearts, a change that would ensure Magneto's rise to acknowledgement and supreme power. All of a sudden Magneto produced interesting and engaging stories with a truly amazing back story based on partly true events along with a brilliant aim to make Mutants the dominant race and nothing... I mean NOTHING will stop him, with other mutants at his side he rages a war against those who appose him "if you're not with us, then you are against us"
During Max's/Eriks childhood him and his family were captured during their attempt to flee from the Nazis, as a result his family were executed but I am unsure of how Erik survived maybe like "First Class" they were intrigued by his powers and so they kept him alive, Erik was then sent to Auschwitz where he met a girl called Magda. they escaped during a revolt and they moved to the Ukraine where he renamed himself Magnus (a lot cooler than Erik)
An angry mob burnt down their house due to his immense powers with his daughter still in side, Magneto killed the mob and the city but was left by Magda due to her fear of his powers and as a result Magnus moved to Israel under the name Erik... where he met Charles Xavier.
so he does have a really powerful and painful back which does explain his hatred towards humans and is the key block in building this infamous villain.
what helped the development of magneto's character similar to Loki is the portayal of the character in live action films and Ian Mckellen is just superb, he manages to create this war mongering villain that despises the human race excellently but what i love most about him is that he is an aging villain, you don't see him running around dodging crap, this guy will walk and this creates this kind of casual feel to the character. Onto his powers, he can control metal which is just awesome, especially now when most things have metallic properties he can throw cars and stop bullets, there's no end to his magnetism but my favorite bit in the comics and in the films is that he can beat wolverine, in a comic he literally ripped the adamantium from Logan's body which was brutal! Do i think he is the best villain, no however he's not far from it.

That's it for today but there were loads I wanted to talk about, here's a few that were in the running:
doctor octopus
Thanos
mandarin
green goblin
red hulk
there are too many villains!!
anyway thanks for reading.
until next time
:)
