This is going to be something new to me today, I never intended on reviewing a TV series but i thought whilst Agents Of Shield is in its early episodes I can maybe talk about it a lot and expand on what i think will happen and my hopes.
Agents of Shield is on it's 3rd episode:
The Pilot
0-8-4
The Asset
So whats it about?
well Agent Coulson who comes back from the dead (more on that later) creates an amateur team that go round and stop things that the world aren't ready to see and things that could be dangerous, for example in the first episode there is a brilliant reference to Iron Man 3 EXTREMIS, its being dished out and they have to stop it before more people explode like in Iron Man 3, in episode 2 there is a devise similar to Hydra and is powered by Tesseract energy and in the 3rd episode a new element know as Gravitonium that defies gravity and bends it.
Ah of course you want to meet the team!
Phil Coulson runs the show and is occasionally joined by either Nick Fury or Agent Hill
Melinda May is the pilot and the ass kicker
Grant Ward is the Agent that specializes in agent stuff (a male version of black widow)
Skye who is a member of a group called the Rising Tide who set out to exploit secrets and at the moment she can't seem to decide who's team she wants to be on
Leo Fitz, the nerdy scientist with a cool accent
Jemma Simmons, another nerdy scientist
What about Coulson... how is he alive?
At the moment there are hints being thrown at us, in episode 1 Hill and this doctor talk about Coulson not knowing, knowing what? its unclear at the moment
Coulson mentions having a break in Tahiti whilst recovering, whats strange about this is that he refers it as a "magical place" so I have 2 theories at the moment.
1) magical place may refer to one of the 9 realms and maybe using magic they brought him back to life
2) he is a robot and Tahiti was used to blank his memory in a way
its very unclear at the moment and i think they will drag this out for as long as they can, which is not cool!
At the Moment I am really liking the show, its well put together, and has a good cast but the thing that stands out the most is that its a show with good quality CGI and so many references which is just brilliant. There are references to the events in the Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk basically everything which i think is amazing because it shows how connected the show is to the films and although i doubt any of the Avengers will have a role in the episode its nice to know that they are constantly brought up in discussion.
Another thing that i quite like is the approach to the characters and how similar it is to the marvel films, they all have some sort of humour but Shield shows more humour because it's made up of funny characters like Coulson and Skye, i just don't want them to try and be too funny and make Skye's character lose her interesting personality because at the moment she is like a ghost, no past, no last name and no family, I want them to stay on that path and bit by bit reveal more about her and get her closer to Agent ward who I believe has a thing for Skye despite his initial reaction not to trust her because of her negative background but i think a relationship is going to blossom :)
My final Verdict so far is 7/10
I'm really looking forward to future episodes but what i think would make this show even better is an Avenger appearance and the first villain who poses a threat. If you haven't seen it i seriously suggest watching the pilot to see what you think, you may love or you'll hate but there's only one way to be sure.
well thats all for this weekend! hope you enjoyed and be sure to stay tuned for more movie news on my Facebook page and more reviews right here!
Until next time!
