The Dark Knight Trilogy

Before I review Thor the Dark World which should be up at about 10:00 I thought I would talk about one of the best trilogy's of all time in my opinion.
The special thing about the dark knight trilogy is that Christopher Nolan made it real and brought most aspects to life like the Batmobile and the Bat suit, its not just a skintight costume its Kevlar Armor which is possible and it just looks brilliant, at least it doesn't have nipple.

When I was younger I absolutely hated Batman Begins because I imagined Batman as an ass kicking dominating superhero, explosions everywhere and 20 guys getting beat up but thats no what i got instead I was given a really boring story of Bruce Wayne. But now its one of my favourite films of all time because it is such a great introduction to the dark mysterious character supported by a fantastic cast, they got all the characters spot on and what I liked was that Bruce Wayne wasn't like other incarnations Christian Bale was a very thin yet muscular Batman who couldn't take on loads of thugs without being hit, this kinda showed that he isn't a superhero and he is breakable its just very difficult. Compared to games ect that may be considered a bad thing but somehow they made it work brilliantly especially in the time of superhero movies introducing realism.
Batman Begins is my least favourite in the trilogy but it is a superb film, it introduces the millionaire orphan and really gets into detail about the pain and anger Bruce has lived with for all these years and how he turns that fear into a weapon to fight injustice in Gotham. The thing that i most enjoyed was his journey and when Batman was first seen, the development of the costume and his equipment was a great scene and it stretched throughout all of the film first introducing the armor then the cape and finally the famous Tumbler. I thought I would mention the villains, Ra's al Ghul and Scarecrow were brilliant villains to start off with and I guess it left the audience who will be next and it's Liam Neeson he makes such a cool villain.

The Dark Knight was a turning point for the trilogy and really for every other superhero film ever because the standards just shot up when Heath Ledger's character was revealed, some of us laughed at the fact that Christopher Nolan had picked this unknown actor who played a gay cowboy, look how wrong we were!! the film was absolutely phenomenal, The joker really made the film introducing a darker side to the crime in Gotham, Yes Ras Al Ghul wanted to level the city but what Joker was doing was on a new scale of mad and creepy. When I think of the Joker i imagine someone who would easily be beaten by the batman but Heaths interpretation appeared to be a challenge, he corrupted Gotham's only hope for a clean city without crime and killed the only person Bruce has ever loved whilst causing Chaos and sending chills down our spine with that laugh and superb acting skills.
It was such a tragedy that Heather Ledger died and his role was amazing the only problem everyone faced was how on earth were they going to top that, would they recast the joker or get rid of him. This film really tested the dark knight and pushed him to his limits showing that the villain doesnt have to be a strong fighter but someone who knows how to turn and manipulate the brightest of people.

The final epic conclusion in my view was the best because it introduced a villain who was stronger than the bat whilst the joker appeared to be a mental challenge Bane on the other hand could physically beat the batman and it was then watching him struggle and overcome his injuries to beat Bane. The finale was spectacular with twist and turns at every corner, nail biting scenes and a fight that included 1100 extras in 1 street, Beautiful.
A lot of people picked out issues like "how did Bruce get back to Gotham" blah blah blah, yes i agree that they never explained it but just enjoy it, they never explained how Bruce survived but they don't need to, that was the point to show that Bruce has moved on and can finally enjoy a life without wearing the mask, it was a happy ending and a pretty good one. For me the 2 things that spoilt it was Miranda's god awful death scene and the fact that Bane went down easily, I know that bane is superior but wouldn't it have been awesome if Batman beat him fair and square, the highlight was of course their first encounter it was such a brilliantly choreographed fight that touched the hearts of comic fans as they showed Bane breaking the bat,  it's such an iconic chapter of the crusaders life.

This was just a little chat about the trilogy and how much i love them, i would give all of the an 9/10 because they are so different to every other superhero film, Batman is'nt crashing through
buildings and taking on 15 guys all at once but they just emphasis the normality of the broken individual who has the ability to fight but he isn't the man of steel.
in order of favourite i think it would go backwards, TDKR, TDK and Batman Begins. many disagree with me because of Heaths performance but it was nice to see a villain who was better. I could never find many things wrong with these films because i'm too busy actually watching and enjoying the film, I am going to miss it especially the cast, Bale did a fantastic job and so did everyone in the film I am really glad that they were not cheesy.
Thank you for reading my blog, I love talking about films and I'm going to try it a new way with Thor and hopefully it works better.
Until Next time.... 10:00?
