Amazing Spiderman 2

Good Morning pedestrians! last night I saw Amazing Spider-man 2 with someone pretty amazing so it was a great evening! I can only presume you are going to read the word amazing quite a few times today, see already 3 times. Well I hope you enjoy and I urge you to go see the new marvel film its fantastic! (you thought I was going to say amazing) also I will briefly talk about the strange post credit scene only as a warning really, I felt it was a bit of waste.
enjoy!

I don't know where to start really, I guess I'll start at the beginning. The new Spider-man films have managed to create this ever lasting twist about Peters parents and the guy in the hat and in the beginning we get a better look at Peters parents and what happened and it really sets up the psychological journey that Peter goes through in this film. Its amazing how it all adds up but it still doesn't answer everything which automatically sets up the next Spider-man film, they will drag out the secrets surrounding Oscorp for as long as they can and they are doing a great job so far.
The opening uses some very skilled CGI with the plane scene and its just full of riddles that slowly unravel themselves as the film progresses which creates an interesting story, this spider-man film is so deep that nothing is what it seems and everything that happens has a reason and a purpose.

The main thing I was worried about was the fact that they introduced 3 villains... it didn't work out so well for Sam Raimi unfortunately but it was executed perfectly however I felt they teased the Rhino a bit too much, he appears in many posters and trailers but his role is very insignificant but it does lay out the foundations for the next film which will hopefully involve the sinister 6 (the amount of references towards the sinister 6 is astounding!) but I felt it was unnecessary to tease the Rhino like they did because it made me excited to see his involvement but it only lasted 4 minutes... a tad disappointing but none the less it is very awesome. The design for the Rhino is very cool and unique and I'm sure it would beat a giant guy in a Rhino spandex... a mechanical suit makes sense.

The other villain of course was the great Electro who was awesome! Jamie Foxx did a wonderful job of being this obsessive weirdo who dreamed of the attention that Spider-man gets and that does create some funny scenes but that is when he see Max, when Electro comes into the equation we get an entirely new character with his own creepy theme that is so strange but yet so suiting, Max actually got this quirky nerdy music that followed him and that was just funny but like I said Electro is a completely new character. The effects for Electro was amazing, it looked fantastic! it was as though you could see his veins glow and he was accompanied by this strange electric voice which sounded great. Electro was just a fantastic character, he was developed perfectly and he was one of those villains along with the Goblin who felt betrayed by the web-slinger so he wasn't evil and I guess you could say he was manipulated and just tired of being a silent voice so I did feel sorry for him until he started trying to kill everyone...

Finally we get a brief but pretty awesome introduction to the Goblin AKA Harry Osborne who also feels betrayed by Spider-man and although we don't get a long look at him I don't think we've seen the last of him but what we do see if very cool! we get a more grounded explanation to the Goblins origin which surprisingly originated from his Father which is interesting but the transformation scene is fairly creepy. I would also advise people who suffer with epilepsy too shut their eyes, just a word of warning. The overall design of the Goblin is pretty awesome, its creepy and its cools and it kinda reminded me of an iron man suit in many ways I just wish we got a better look however he is a key character for many reasons, reasons that comic fans may recognise.

The action itself is just brilliant and it works really well with Spidey's sense of humour that originated in the comics, he comes across as this cocky hero and it works really well, you are guaranteed a lot of laughs. The effects of Spider-man are fantastic, he really shows off his web slinging abilities which was exciting, it was just full of brilliantly coordinated stunts and action sequences. I honestly didn't expect a lot of action because I think Spider-man deserves more of a character building set of films, things never seem to go his way and it was really good to seem him learn from them as well as kick ass.
The cast are just fantastic as well, I can't think of a better person to play Spider-man other than Andrew Garfield, he is funny and he can act very well but he can also make us feel sorry for him very quickly, there is a lot of crying in this film so it might be a good idea to bring a box of tissues (comic book fans know what I'm talking about) The only problem I had with the saddest and most horrific scene is that it almost gives it away in the trailer which I didn't think was fair but I did anticipate it and it was very sad... I swear I had a few tears and I know I wasn't the only one... so don't judge me!

I give it a solid 8/10 the cast were amazing, the action was amazing and it toyed with your emotions so much that it became more of a in-depth and meaningful superhero film the only problem I had was in fact the trailers, they showed too much and there were too many of them and I also had a bit of a problem with Rhino, I can see why they involved him but the advertisements made it appear he would have a more pivotal role which he didn't.
I will go see it again! I will make it happen and you can stay for the post credit scene if you like... its a clip from X-men which was strange but very pointless, the entire cinema was baffled.
