So I hope you enjoy my list!
Frozen
Ok, I've already talked about Frozen quite a bit so I'll try and keep it short and sweet. The music is ridiculously addictive, Let it go is on 185,000,000 YouTube views... yeah! as well as the songs being addictive they were well composed and meaningful and were sung beautifully by the entire cast, hats go off to the wonderful Idina Menzel who played Elsa. What makes this one of my favourites is that its not your typical Disney film, yes its predictable because its for kids but its very different compared to sleeping Beauty for example because it portrays women in a very positive way, they don't need a prince or a knight in shining armour and that's what made it stand out. And finally the animation was flawless! the designs were beautiful and the animation was fantastic, just look at the way they created snow! it looked amazing!
Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy!
Probably the greatest Pirate films yet! I would like to point out that I am only including 1,2 and 3 (I really didn't like 4) the first 3 are just fantastic! the cast is amazing, we have the legendary Johnny Depp who's portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow has become so iconic! the character is just brilliant who is guaranteed to make us laugh as well as amaze us. He is of course joined by Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightly and Geoffrey Rush and the wickedly awesome Bill Nighy. If I were to pick a favourite single film out of the trilogy it would have to be Dead Mans chest because of the Bill Nighy's role as Davy Jones, the development and creation of the flying Dutchman and its crew is amazing! they look awesome and the individual and unique designs insure a captivating experience, they are also quite freaky! The action in it as well is so much fun, we have the classical "wheel of fortune" moment where our 3 main characters are running on a wheel, its brilliant! and you have giant ship battles that were created brilliantly with cool CGI and awesome stunts!
If your a weirdo like me... then you should be able to recognise the music... it is of course the work of Hans Zimmer! who produced such a catchy tune that it is now a ringtone or an alarm, the music just makes the entire experience a lot more exciting and fun especially with drunken kind of music that kinda became Jacks theme. The Pirate films are just a lot of fun unfortunately I think they should have stopped at 3, no 4 and 5. They had something amazing and I think if they continue they are at risk of ruining it.
Tarzan
Lion King
The story involves a lot things that have become very popular in Disney films the only difference is that the Lion King went into a lot of detail to execute it perfectly, it covers the problem that is very hard to face and thats the loss of someone and I think its safe to say it make a lot of people cry, it was just sad because it was that powerful and strong. The lion king story is a lot deeper and meaningful compared to other Disney films, why do you think "Hakuna Matata" has lasted so long, why is it so memorable? its because it has meaning and Simba learns from it, and its there so we can as well plus... its a catchy song.
What is so impressive is that not only was the Lion King a big hit, it was re-released in cinemas, made into a phenomenal stage show and it even got its own spin off show along with 2 other films. The characters were designed brilliantly especially Scar who looked so menacing, the songs were pretty great (be prepared was my favourite) and most of all it was enjoyable even though it messed with out emotions. How could I forget! guess who did the music!! of course it was Hans Zimmer along with the talented work from Elton John who helped make an beautifully captivating opening where all the animals join pride rock, an awesome way to start a film!
Lilo and Stitch
Dear god! I cannot emphasise how much I love Lilo and Stitch, he is one of my favourite characters and I remember seeing him in Florida; I was so happy. Lilo and Stitch is quite a unique film in all honesty because its aliens but it worked brilliantly, this film causes us to battle with our emotions quite a bit, we are presented with a violent and destructive monster but as soon as Stitch picks up that ugly duckling book our hearts melt a bit (don't be ashamed... I won't tell anyone) Stitch is just a very loveable and funny creature that we all wanted as kids, I still want my own Stitch... it would be awesome! (don't look like that, you know it true!)
I found it very random, Hawaii and aliens its nonsense but it worked so well! we instantly fall in love with Lilo who is a sad character, she's lonely and bullied and we feel sorry for her almost instantly and its great to see things work out.
I loved the Hawaii part of the film because it was different, I have no idea why they picked Hawaii but it was nice to see something different. The music is fun as well mainly because its Elvis, who doesn't love a bit of Elvis and that really creates a lot of funny scenes like when Stitch is learning to kiss or when he's playing the Ukulele. Strangely enough... Stitch is the only film I recognise with a decent sequel!
Hercules
Aladdin
This is one of the major Disney films that can entertain the entire family and thats what's really nice about it, even at 16 I can still enjoy Aladdin and I'm sure I will in 10 years time.
Well thats my favourites, Of course if I had the will power to continue I would have involved:
Beauty and the Beast
Dinosaur
Treasure Planet and Tangled.
Did I miss a magical Disney film? tell me here or on my Facebook page!
I hope you enjoyed!
